The unique Webmaster Support Plan is a
feature available on our premium packages only, ie only on the
Webcentral Package and
Netregistry Package.
The Webmaster Support Plan includes up to three hours per quarter
for
support,
minor amendments and essential behind-the-scenes technical work relating to your
site, including issues often neglected by some site owners. Note
this does not generally include design work,
updates or maintenance.
The
typical inclusions of the Webmaster Support Plan
are listed below with
a small explanation of each item. Not all items
may be relevant for every
web site - the work is tailored to
the priorities and needs of each individual site.
The goal of the
support plan is to give you, the site owner, the freedom to
be able to request minor changes without worrying about the
budget, and also to provide us with the freedom to be pro-active in looking
after your site's behind-the-scenes needs when required without having to
request approval prior to doing essential work.
Hosting Account
Management and Server
Administration
Management of hosting account, liaising and corresponding with Webcentral or Netregistry
technical support
department on any issues relating to server performance, downtime,
site functionality or software issues.
Telephone Support /
Consultation / Correspondence / Queries
Providing support, answering queries via
phone or email and discussing issues relating to services
or the site's content or development.
Search Engines
Registering and monitoring the site
rankings in major search engines. This is usually regarded as the highest priority during the early maintenance
periods.
Technical or
Design Improvements
Making small functionality,
technical or design improvements across the site eg meta tags,
image compression, image duplication, image slicing, colours,
improved navigation, hover effects, sound
etc.
Minor
Amendements/Updates
Minor site change requests to content/design (typically less
than 15 minutes).
Verification
of Links and Interactive Elements
Checking internal and external links and
forms on the site and rectifying
any problems eg. dead links.
Marketing
Suggestions
Investigating and suggesting methods available to market the
site
(and your business) on the internet
eg. links on other related sites.
Compatibility
Checks
Checking for cross-browser compatibility (particularly
as new versions of popular browsers are released)
and multiple resolutions, to ensure your visitors are seeing
what they should.
Adding Links
Adding new links to related sites (if applicable) to improve the
usefulness of your own site to visitors.
Small
Layout or Design Improvements
Sometimes small changes to layout or design
can make a site feel more
"dynamic".
Routine Administration
File management, spell checks, grammar etc.
Improvement
Suggestions
General uggestions for
improvements to your site.
Maintenance of
Time-Related Elements
Addition or removal of seasonal items or time-based content
where applicable.
